The course lasts 2 weeks, and the fee includes the cost of two studio days

  • The Bridal Makeup course is £550
    (3 days)

  • An individual makeover day is £175

How many students in a class?
There are no more than six students in a class, with two teachers. There will also be special talks by a top celebrity hair stylist and a top celebrity clothes stylist and a film makeup artist.

Can you tell me something about the teachers?
The brochure does tell you something about us but here is a little more about Sue whose brainchild these courses are.

Sue has been a makeup supervisor and makeup artist for 26 years. One of the reasons she wants to teach these courses is because it was really difficult for her to get into her chosen career.

She was turned away by the BBC because she was too young, so she started a career in the music business. She then reapplied to the BBC but was told she was too old (22yrs old!!) so she carried on with her music business career which was great fun, but not what she wanted to do.

By now she was 28 …… having read about a short course in fashion makeup, she took her three week leave and did the course.
She was picked out as one of the best students and asked to stay on and help with the courses and it all went on from there.

If you are interested in finding out more about Sue's career come and do a makeup course!

Why are makeup4you courses so different from others?
Our main difference is that Sue and Lucie are at present working on most of the top shows in light entertainment and can therefore give a great deal of help towards students gaining work NOW.

As you will have read in the brochure, one lucky student in the advance course will be chosen to work on one of Sue’s television series.

We also make sure you have different faces to work on. This is so important as no two faces are the same and in the television makeup business you never know who you will be applying makeup to that night … it could be Lindsay Lohan, Ricky Gervais,  a News Reader or an actress who has to look like Queen Victoria!!!

Also , these courses are intense, short courses so that you can get out into the workplace as soon as possible.
That is where you will gain what you need to be a top makeup artist …. experience.
If you want to become a prosthetics makeup artist or be a specialist in wigs and hair, these are not the courses for you.

We touch on wigs and facial hair and of course you will learn hair styling, and the Advance course teaches you a small amount of prosthetics e.g. bruising, cuts and minor burns.
But you will need to find other courses for in depth studies on these subjects.
(We can recommend various other schools and courses)

What is included in the course?
As mentioned above, one of the days you will attend a television studio and see Sue and Lucie working on a recording of a top TV show.
Plus you will receive a some basic makeup eseentials, which will be a great way to start off your kit.
